Exercises for Weight Loss - Achieve Your Aspirations for a Beautiful Balanced Body

If you are looking for exercises for weight loss, you do not have far to search as there are myriads of them on the Internet that you could consider to achieve your weight loss aspirations. You can also find access to several brick and mortar gyms with specialist physical trainers who will tell you the right way to go about exercises for weight loss.
Every exercise has its own levels and methods that help in weight control and their individual rate of success depends entirely on the rate of metabolism that they can generate, and these differ from exercise to exercise.
You have two types of exercises, which are the aerobic and the anaerobic or strength training exercises that have their own distinctive ways of contributing to weight loss. During the aerobic exercises the calories and fats burn while the exercise is in the process, while strength training causes weight loss by increasing your RMR or resting metabolic rate that refers to the quantum of calories that you burn while resting.
There is a misconception in some circles that walking is not a good enough exercise, but this is not true as it is one of the best exercises for achieving weight loss because it enhances the body metabolism. It also, surprisingly maintains the increased rate even up to four hours after walking and the continued higher rate of metabolism is instrumental in burning calories and fat rapidly.
Most fitness experts opine that aerobic exercises also called cardiovascular exercises are the best way to burn calories and lose weight. You must remember that strength training, weight lifting and interval short bursts of training do not really contribute heavily to fat burn, but instead, are ideal for building muscle and contribute indirectly to weight loss by coercing the body to burn up the fats to build and maintain the growing muscles.
In all types of exercises, you must remember the useful importance of a warm-up, as this is what prepares the muscles to remain flexible and avert injury during the major exercises. Slow walking, low intensity movements or rotations of your trunk are ideal warm-up exercises if done for about 10 minutes. You can also go for endurance exercises and other simple weight exercises along with a few push-ups.
Some other exercises that could give you great results in muscle-building and weight loss are:
- Lower Body Stretch - This is an exercise where you keep folding your hands behind your head and stand with your feet shoulder apart. Now bend forward to try to touch your toes, hold the position for 30 seconds, revert to the original position and repeat at least 10 times.
- Bent Torso Pull - In this exercise, you stretch your legs wide apart without straining while you are in a sitting position. While you bend one knee towards your torso, you should pull your chest downwards to touch the thigh on this leg and then twist at the waist, hold the position for 10 seconds and repeat the same movement on the opposite side. Do these exercises 10 times each.

Is Pain Stopping You From Losing Weight?

If you are overweight and suffer from pain in your feet that radiates from your heel, you are not alone. Almost one quarter of overweight people suffer from plantar fasciitis, a debilitating condition that causes heel pain and can limit a person's ability to walk or exercise. It is estimated that one out of every ten people will suffer from heel pain at some point in his or her life.
Being overweight and suffering from heel pain can create a vicious cycle. We all know that exercise is a key component to losing weight. The problem is that heel pain often strikes when you put more stress on your feet by increasing your physical activity. If heel pain then forces you to limit exercise, it becomes challenging to lose weight and can actually cause an increase in weight. Increasing weight and a sedentary lifestyle can cause more heel pain and other common health problems, such as depression and heart disease.
The good news is that when properly treated, most heel pain improves in 6 to 8 weeks. The bad news is that most people do not have the information to properly treat it. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons estimates that 2 million people seek treatment for plantar fasciitis every year in the United States, and several million more go untreated. Those who don't seek treatment often hope that plantar fasciitis will just go away on its own - which it usually doesn't.
Daniel Marein-Efrón, founder of a new company called Heeling Solutions, suffered from heel pain and weight gain for over a year. He became frustrated with his lack of improvement after investing thousands of dollars in special foot devices and visits to the podiatrist. He sought out the nation's experts on the subject of heel pain and found that the solution did not involve surgery or a magic pill, but several months of special stretches, icing, extra support for his feet and modifications to his lifestyle. After several months of sticking to this regimen, he was free of plantar fasciitis and training for a marathon.
"The first steps to relieving heel pain can be as simple as stretching your foot before getting out of bed in the morning, icing your foot regularly and wearing proper footwear," says Jeffrey S. Peterson, M.A., M.D Northern California Institute of Sports Medicine. "Many people also require additional steps such as using orthotics in their shoes or wearing a supportive foot device at night called a night splint."
How do you know if you have plantar fasciitis? Only a licensed medical professional can confirm your diagnosis. Seek out a practitioner who specializes in conditions of the foot and ankle, such as a podiatrist or orthopedist. The most common symptom of plantar fasciitis is intense pain with the first few steps in the morning. It can strike people of any age and is most common in people who are runners, overweight or spend a lot of time on their feet. Ways to Lose Weight That Can Help Everyone

Everyone is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest ways to lose weight. Previously I have written about how I believe that the only way to lose weight over the long term is to make changes to your everyday habits. The problem with diets is that the changes you make while on them are always radical and temporary in nature. As soon as you go off the diet, you go back to your old habits and the weight comes back. Making simple, long term changes to your eating habits is the key. In this article I'm going to outline some more simple changes that can help you achieve real, long term weight loss.
One of the biggest obstacles for weight loss, particularly for children, is the availability of soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi. They contain so many calories in the form of refined, concentrated sugar that you can easily drink your entire daily caloric intake in one sitting. What's worse is that so many restaurants these days offer bottomless refills, making it easy to overindulge. Whenever possible, it is best to avoid this glorified sugar water. Any kind of fruit juice would be preferable, and plain old water is the best. If you really feel like having a Coke, limit yourself to one glass. Pop should be viewed as a treat, like chocolate cake. To lose weight, you need to break yourself of the habit of having it with every meal.
For the sake of time, too many people out there skip breakfast. The big problem with skipping breakfast is that people often find themselves famished by the time 10 am rolls around. As a result they often grab whatever they can, which usually means an unhealthy choice like a pastry or doughnut. If you are rushed for time in the morning, try grabbing a piece of fruit like an apple. If you are just not that hungry first thing in the morning, this might be a sign that you are eating too much too late in the evening. In such a case try eating a smaller dinner, and try eating it before 7pm.
One of the best ways to lose weight is to eat more food in the form of fruits and vegetables. In your heart of hearts, I bet that you know that you should eat more fruits and vegetables too. Fruits and Veggies are all nutrient rich, low cal, and filling. When you eat a healthy serving of produce, you will feel fuller longer, and will wide up eating less in the long run. The only caution here is to go easy on the creamy dips, dressings, butter and cheese sauce that can often accompany such meals. Also, with produce like apples, always remember to eat the skin whenever possible. The skin often contains lots of fiber and nutrients in it's own right.
In a perfect world, you'd have the time to cook yourself a healthy meal every night. However, the world we live in is far from perfect, and we are often rushed. This is why we often grab fast food as a last resort. To combat this tendency, plan ahead for these hurried moments by having some healthy, frozen meals available ready to go. If this saves you from one trip to McDonald's, it will be worth it. Here's an additional tip. If you buy your healthy frozen meal from store, you will find that they often pretty skimpy on the vegetables. Try to round out the meal by adding a salad or some other fruit or vegetable.
The last habit that can help you lose weight is to get more sleep. Most people know that they could use more sleep, although few understand the connection between proper sleep and weight loss. The reason for this is that when you are groggy due to lack of sleep, you will often try and make up for it by grabbing a high calorie sugar food as a pick me up. When you are feeling tired, you are also much more likely to skip whatever workout regime you are on. This is why getting enough sleep is one of the easiest ways to lose weight there is.
So, there you have it. If you are interested in losing weight over the long term, all of these habits listed above can help you. None of them are difficult to do, yet all of them can lean to real, long lasting results. As I stated earlier, the way I lost 30lbs, and have kept it off, was by changing my habits. Always remember, diets don't work! If I can do it, so can you. If you have any questions feel free to visit my website and leave a comment using the "contact me" form. Good luck!

Best Weight Loss Programs - Tactics That Work!

Looking to lose weight and want to find the best solution? Have you tried every trick in the book and still struggled to lose those unwanted pounds?
I have been in your shoes. I know how it is to exercise regularly, eat right and lose most of the weight, but it's hard to lose those last few stubborn pounds. It's possible to break past this barrier, and I will teach you how.
For starters, I don't want you to make dramatic changes in your lifestyle. Instead, I want to to improve on some of the things that you are doing already. It's hard to introduce new habits, and a a lot easier to change or modify existing ones.
That's exactly what my 12 step solution is all about. Try these simple and effective tactics to supercharge your weight loss efforts. Do the best you can and don't try and do it all at one time.
1. Become more positive and receptive to new weight-loss ideas. Because permanent weight-loss success begins not with the measuring cup but the mind, take a minute to explore your reasons for wanting to lose weight. Just fitting into a smaller dress size is not enough. What then? That's when the weight creeps back. A healthy weight should be a part of your mindset. It's not just about looking better or fitting into smaller clothes but about being healthier and maintaining a healthy lifestyle of the rest of your life. This is easier said than done. It takes some practice. Ask yourself WHY do you want to lose weight? Can you zero in on a better reason than a smaller dress size? Sure, you want to look good, but you want to feel good, too, right? That is what will keep you motivated for a lifetime.
2. Write everything down. Take a journal and make a note of how much you exercise, what you are eating, your successes and your failures.Write down what you eat, and check it against a calorie counter every night for the next two weeks. For many people, this is all it takes to wake up and reverse a lifetime of bad habits. This may sound silly but it's one of the best weight-loss tactics in the world. I have heard several instances where clients eat a healthy salad but sprinkle itwith so much dressing that you end up with a 500 calorie meal. Once you start seeing how many calories there are in what you're eating, you'll know which foods to cut back on or eliminate.
3. Become more active. This is my favorite tip. Exercise is the single strongest predictor of you ability to lose weight - and keep it off. Yes, exercise burns calories, increases your metabolism and energy, and develops lean muscle mass. But just as important, exercise catapults your self-esteem, which makes you more likely to do other things to take care of yourself, like eat less. Get moving means strength training AND aerobic conditioning.
4. Resist that first bite especially for the foods you love. You've heard it before: everything is okay in moderation. But face it: there are certain foods you simply can't eat moderately. If one cookie or a handful of chips is never enough, it's best just to avoid these foods altogether. If you've spent your entire adult life trying to eat a little of certain foods and failing, that is your signal to just forget it and don't even take a bite.
5. Drink more water. Most people complain "I hate water." "It's soooo boring. There's no taste!" "I can't drink too much or I'll waste my day in the bathroom." "I know I have to drink more water. I just keep forgetting about it." You know you need at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. You need to understand why water is so important. Yes, it fills you up. It controls your appetite. Did you know that it also aids in metabolizing fat? your liver is busy metabolizing fat and ridding your body of toxins. Water helps to get rid of toxins. If you're not drinking enough water, you have more toxins in your body, compromising the liver's ability to metabolize fat. You need water on hand for fat metabolism.
6. Reduce 100 calories from your diet every day. Make a commitment to cut 100 calories a day from your diet and replace it with an activity that burns 100 calories. It's easier to pinpoint the 100 with the journal I talked about earlier. If you did nothing else, you'd lose 10 lb. at the end of a year. A few activities that burn 100 cals are 1/2 hr. of walking, 20 minutes of swimming, or even dancing around your living room.
7. Eat fruits and vegetables every day. These have a powerful effect on sugar cravings. Plus, they're low in calories, fill you up with fiber, and pack a powerful nutritional punch.
8. Start training with weights. More muscle means more calories burned, even at rest. The key to permanent weight loss.
9. Eat more fibre. Fiber-rich fruits and veggies are great nutritional fare, since they fill you up without adding too much fat or too many calories. But increasing fiber intake could actually reduce the amount of calories absorbed by the body, too.
10. Spread your calories out over the course of the day. The typical American eats light during the day, and heavier at night. Yikes! By the time you get to dinner, your metabolism has gotten sluggish, which means a greater number of calories will be stored as fat. It's even worse if you're not active after dinner. Eat larger meals during the day, and have a light dinner.
11. Change Your Shopping Style When I go grocery shopping I can take one look at someone's shopping cart and make some basic assumptions about their lifestyle. If you want to lose weight your grocery shopping habits must improve. Thin starts at the grocery store. Before you hit the checkout lane, review your selections and dump any sugary, fatty treats and snacks. Your family may complain but they will get used to it.
12. Mix up your workouts. Crosstraining is the key to success. It is said the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and yet expect the same results. The same applies to fitness. You can't expect to do the same exercise, at the same intensity week after week and continue to see results. The body must be 'shocked' to respond with results. As long as the exercise is unpredictable and varied or manipulated every two weeks you will continue improving and losing weight.

Quit Being Fast Food Diet Stupid!

What is this that I keep seeing about fast food diets? I do a ton of internet research day in and day out, and I keep seeing articles and web-sites containing information in regards to fast food diets that can still keep you thin and healthy. What can I say? I suppose that I can understand the point of view of the fast food industry to reflect this opinion; it's in the interest of their self-preservation. However, I can only speculate as to why anyone else of any other affiliation would even think about justifying a fast food diet as being healthy.
The term fast food diet is an oxymoron! True, if you eat fast food regularly, you are in fact surviving on a diet that consists of fast food. However, you are not, in fact, on a fast food diet. A diet, in every sense of the modern meaning as it applies to weight loss or healthy eating, cannot come even close to being in the same family as fast food. We are not even talking about distant cousins, twice removed, re-instated through marriage... We are talking about the fact that there is no such thing as a fast food diet. Fast food can be utilized occasionally to replace healthy food because you are on the go and have no access to food that you have prepared yourself. It is a temporary fix for the problem of not having access to healthy food. However, it is not meant to be eaten solely in a "fast food diet".
We as Americans have grown lazy and dependent upon the fast food industry. They know this, and prey upon us because of this. The concept or term "fast food diet", I am sure, was even invented by one of the fast food conglomerates in order to try to gain leverage upon the health conscious Americans who have begun to educate themselves upon the dangers of eating fast food on a regular basis. You are smiling at my comment and thinking to yourself, "this guy is crazy", or "that would be funny if it were true". However, if it is true, is it truly funny? How else do you think that the fast food diet came to be? You come up with a better idea and let me know.
Business is business, and money is money. Fast food is a business and needs money to survive. If you were to suddenly decide not to eat fast food anymore because it was unhealthy for you to do so, then they have lost their business and they have lost their money. So, let's create a term "fast food diet" and let Americans think that it means that they can lose weight, and eat our food while doing so! I swear, there was a moment of silence in my mind after writing that... because I know that a ton of us fell for it! The fast food diet caught on faster than a California brush fire during a drought!
Do not be suckered into thinking that counting calories and eating healthy is the same thing! Yes, they are listing fast food diets that you can partake in which list items off of the various fast food establishments' menus in order to eat a less than two-thousand calorie "fast food diet" daily. This can give you some quick results in weight loss due to your body burning more calories in a day than you are taking into it with you shiny new fast food diet. However, while it is getting thinner, is it getting better? What attributes and vitamins and minerals is your body getting from these menu items? Are you truly getting healthier, or do you feel yourself drained of energy and getting sick more often?
The fact of the matter is that your body does not get anything healthy from these menu items which will enable you to maintain the weight loss that you accomplished from the fast food diet. Your fast food diet has forced your body to actually break down muscle tissue as well as fat in order to get the necessary proteins and vitamins that the food is lacking. So, why eat a fast food diet?
The best fast food diet is the one that refrains from eating any fast food at all. You can watch your calories, and still get all of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs. You can eat negative calorie items that are full of anti-oxidants and anti-carcinogens which will actually prolong your health and your life on this planet. The truth is that the fast food diet is simply a way to keep you coming back to get your fix from the fast food pushers. As I said, the fast food industry serves their purpose. However, do not let yourself be fooled into thinking that eating a fast food diet on a regular basis is going to lead to any long-term positive results.

To Diet or not to Diet, That Should Be The Question!

Diet information is everywhere. In advertisements, on TV, in magazines; the bookstores are crammed with books on many different diet options - The South Beach Diet, The Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers, The Cabbage Soup Diet. The message is 'you should think about your weight'. If you aren't already thinking about dieting, you will be before long.
Most of the clients that come to see me want to lose weight. They have typically tried out a few diet options, but still haven't achieved what they are looking for.The big question is what are they looking for?
It all starts off with that glance in the mirror. What we see staring back at us is often an image we don't like or at least we don't rave about. The instant reaction too often can be - 'I need to go on a diet'.
You don't like the package, so you need to alter it in some way. But the truth is that often it is the 'packaging' that is distorting the picture - distorting our image of ourselves and not you (the package).
Consider this: Everything about you is perfect as it is, and has a purpose. Your shape, your height, your size, your hair colour, your eye colour, the shape of your features, and the size of your knees - they all combine to create you. Having a negative personal image can lead to weight gain or weight loss. Most eating disorders occur as a result of a negative body image.
Your packaging - or your style and your way of dress - has a huge impact on your personal image - how you see yourself, how much you like the way you look and ...how large or small you look.
Just imagine how you feel when you are presented with a gift that is packaged with the fanciest ribbon, shiniest paper and with care and attention. In fact, it almost doesn't matter what is inside the package! It is the same for you, your packaging has an impact on yourself - how you feel about yourself, your confidence levels, and how others treat you.
So before you go on a diet, please consider the following:
Are you wearing clothes that don't fit you?
Squeezing into an item of clothing is just plain unflattering and although you think you can stay in denial of your true size, every other person that passes you in the street will notice that you are squeezing in. You will only draw more attention which can make you feel more sensitive about how you look.
More importantly wearing clothes that are bigger than you or too small for you will make you look bigger.
Tips
Go through your wardrobe and clear out all items that don't fit you. Be ruthless! You don't have to throw them away. But putting them in another area - like the top shelf - so they are out of visibility will ensure you a) don't wear them and b) you don't reinforce your negative concerns each time you wear them!
Cut out the size tags. This will take your mind off what size you are wearing, and hopefully you will forget all together and start enjoying what you wear
And of course buy clothes that fit! You think that's just common sense? Well it is one of the biggest wardrobe mistakes that people can make!
Are you wearing clothes that suit your body shape?

Wearing the wrong shape clothes can add pounds. A square shaped t-shirt in structured cotton will cut off any curves you have, either roll up to expose your stomach or make your torso look like a square box. Oh no! However that is what we can mistakenly go for. The same goes for a pair of jeans - a key item in all our wardrobes. They are often cut to fit a squarer body shape.
Tips
Jeans for a curved hipline - drop the waistline but ensure you have a larger waistband, and/or no back pockets. Also, opt for jeans with stretch. This will follow your natural contours better. For men: go for jeans with a pleat around the waistband to accommodate a softer belly line.
Jeans for a narrow hipline - most jeans look a dream on you, but ensure you opt for structure. Stretch could make you look like you have puppy fat.
T-shirts for a curve - use softer fabrics with drape and soft stretch that have a curve in the cut. Avoid front pockets, too high a neckline, square short sleeves. Instead, feminine touches - flowers, soft textures and chiffon, depending on your style. For men: go for softer fabrics.

T-shirts for angles - use structured fabrics, stripes and lines, boyish cuts, and heavier stretch. You can do pockets and sheer looks.
Are you investing in yourself?
If you are having concerns about your weight then you may have put a stop on your wardrobe spending 'until you lose weight'. This is just plain unfair on yourself. It can only lead to you feeling more miserable if you are living in three outfits and haven't got anything you feel really good in. You may feel it will force you to take your diet wishes seriously, but again is dieting what you need, or what anyone needs for that matter?
Tips
Go out now and buy yourself something that you feel really good in, that suits you, that is perhaps an extravagance and that looks slightly sexy or suave. Regardless of whether you have been starving your wardrobe. This doesn't require emptying your wallet. The action in itself, spending some quality time for you to value yourself, will improve your spirits.
For women: Go out and buy some new make-up. A fresh gloss for the lips - natural or bright - whatever is your preference, and a shimmer or rouge for the cheeks. Invest in good mascara and some colour or base for the eyes.
For men: invest in a new shampoo, a facial lotion and an upgrade your shaving system.

Consider this: You don't need to lose weight. But you do want to be healthy and have a positive self-image. If you achieve the latter, your own appearance and weight will find its natural way.
Being healthy is mostly achieved by finding balance. Balance between the stress in your life and the peace you have; a balance between your nutrients and your addictions; a balance between being active and being passive. You also want to be well.
With the amount of toxins we have in our foods and environment and the amount of pressure we have living in the Noughties, your health is very important. Dieting can be unhealthy. What is healthy is loving yourself for how you are, appreciating that as you age your body will change, and that a healthy self-image is far more important than whether you can fit into a size 2. In fact, that is quite dangerous.
Dieting can be a quick fix - you see some results so you feel like you have dealt with the problem. But if you are not happy with your own personal image, then weight loss or not, you will shortly be back in front of that mirror complaining about how you look again.
Sarah Whittaker runs her own Image Profiling business using her own unique typology of thirty-five Image Types. The Image Types are a reflection of your own 'blueprint' and help you to understand how to express your natural self and attract more of what you want.

How to Snack Without Getting Fat

Did you know that when you are on a diet, if you eat something and no one sees you - it doesn't contain any calories! Of course that's not true...but it is how many of us think! Learn how to beat the hunger pains between meals.
Are you a secret snacker? Do you eat when you are bored, upset, angry? Does every day mean a chocolate bar for you? Snacking...the secret sins of most people wanting to lose weight.
As a wellness mentor I find that people are often feeling so guilty about snacking they are embarrassed to talk about it openly. Women in particular laugh nervously when I ask them what happens to their food consumption around 4pm. This often is the time of the day when the "Snack Monster" rises up and takes control of them! Often these women berate themselves with ideas about being weak and out of control. They either eventually give up on their diet altogether or develop counter thoughts so they don't feel so bad. "It didn't really matter - it is fat free". Or, "if no one notices, the calories don't count".
Your diet does not have to be like this.
You can lose weight without being hungry. You can learn to take control of the "Snack Monster" and your program can be one to set you up for success, not failure.
An important key is to learn how to recognize what your body requires, the signals it gives you, and learn how to respond to those signals appropriately - diet and guilt are two words that do not belong together.
Hunger is the body's way of telling us we need to replenish depleted nutrients. Unfortunately our body can't say "I need more vitamin D". That would make things so easy! Many of us interpret hunger pains as our body saying "I need more fat", "I need more sugar".
The keys to healthy snacking are:
1. Know what foods to avoid, and
2. Planning - get yourself organized.
What is a healthy snack? One that contains little or no sugar, little or no salt (sodium), no white flour and no saturated fat. Check the food labels to see what is inside. Many foods are now labeled 'fat free' but are laden with sugars and will still cause an influx of calories. Do not assume that 'fat free' means healthy! Western societies are eating more and more fat free foods, and yet obesity levels are rising faster than ever.
Healthy snacks do not live in a vending machine.
Here are some healthy snack ideas.
· Raw vegetables, such as celery, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, green pepper, green beans, cucumbers, mushrooms or zucchini may be served with a lowfat dip.
· Fresh fruit in season.
· Low fat quick breads and muffins, such as pumpkin, zucchini, banana or bran.
· Non-sugared cereals, snack mixes made with popcorn and whole grain cereal.
· Low fat yogurt with fresh, frozen or canned fruit.
· Shakes with low fat milk or yogurt and fruit.
· A few squirts of butter-flavored spray and a sprinkle of garlic or onion powder on popcorn
Organize yourself to stay on track.
. Plan to have a small snack mid morning and mid afternoon. It is much better to curb your hunger than to starve yourself.
. Plan your snacks as part of your overall daily food plan.
. Organize your week - especially if you work outside the home. Write a list of snacks for the entire week and make sure you shop ahead. Buy enough to last the whole week.
. Buy a variety of healthy snacks so you don't get bored.
Studies show that people who have a healthy intake of food in four of five episodes throughout the day are less prone to obesity than those who eat three or less times during the day.
Snacking CAN be good for you!

10 Good Reasons to Use More Olive Oil

Every day there seem to be more and more reasons why extra virgin olive oil should be a part of everyone's diet.
Here are 10 good reasons to eat more olive oil:
  • Wow! Exquisite taste.
Good extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) is excellent when consumed raw to appreciate its aroma and taste. Its flavour extends from delicate to robust and more people are discovering its interesting taste characteristics.
  • It's a great seasoning.
Think of it as essential seasoning. Like salt and pepper, always have oil on your table at mealtimes. One drop can add extra aroma and taste not just to pasta and salads but sauces, soups, stews, fresh and cooked vegetables, grilled fish and roast meat.
  • It can help you lose weight.
Lowering calories in your diet and replacing bad saturated fats with monounsaturated, found in EVOO, may help your weight loss. It has been demonstrated that an olive-oil-rich diet leads to greater and longer - lasting weight loss than a low-fat diet.
  • You may be healthier and live longer.
Containing a wide variety of valuable antioxidants that are not found in other oils, rich in vitamins and monounsaturated fats, olive oil has been shown to help to control blood pressure, cholesterol level, prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes, some type of cancer and other illnesses and conditions.
  • You will look good.
Including EVOO in your daily diet helps your skin stay healthy and beautiful. It has a large proportion of vitamins A, D, K and E and has a strong antioxidant effect, protecting against cell oxidation and the free radicals. It's a good aid to treat skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.
  • Your children may be healthier.
EVOO plays a key role in foetal development during pregnancy and a shortage may have pernicious effects on the baby's subsequent development. Studies show that the post-natal development of babies of mothers who consumed olive oil when pregnant is better in terms of height, weight, behaviour and psychomotor reflexes.
  • Strengthen your immune system.
Olive oil intake helps the immune system against external attacks from bacteria, infection, micro-organisms and viruses. EVOO is high in polyphenols, chlorophyll, carotenoids and vitamin E - antioxidants key to the immune system strengthening and protection from the damaging effects of free-radicals.
  • It may improve your memory.
Studies have shown that olive-oil-rich diets and monounsaturated fats, found in high amounts in olive oil, could help prevent memory loss, associated with ageing and in diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia.
  • It can ease aches and pains.
